Apparitions Orbs(still and video) Ectoplasm
An apparition is defined as the supernatural manifestation of the soul of a deceased person or animal. Most often referred to as a ghost or spirit. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to see some real apparition photos).

this looks like him. (photo taken by Bill during one of our classes)
No matter how much research has been done, there is still little known about apparitions. Apparitions have been seen as regular living people but disappear when approached or addressed. They usually will be wearing clothing that they were most comfortable in while living. In pictures they can be formed from ectomist or appear in windows or mirrors. This is the most compelling part of the paranormal field and the most sought after evidence. The one thing we do know is that no two are exactly the same, just as each living being is complex and diverse from each other. Each apparition has its own cause, origin and meaning. It is up to the researcher to analyze all the facts of the case and try to develop solid conclusions. There are different classifications of apparitions.
1. Atmospheric/Residual
Not actually a ghost/spirit, but an imprint (residual haunting)
May fade over time (this could be hundreds of years).
Do not change their path or routine
Do not speak to or acknowledge the living
One theory is represented with quantum physics – light particles become
suspended in the atmosphere where they remain dormant until an outside
source stimulates them. They can only be seen from a particular angle
and at a certain distance.
2. Historical
Appear in the clothing of their era
Found (primarily) in historic homes or buildings
They may speak to or acknowledge the living
Can be seen in more than one location of the home
Often seem very confused at their new surroundings
(they are often just as surprised to see living humans as
we are to see them)
3. Death Bed
Appear to loved ones months, days or just moments before
a death (many nursing home employees hear of these)
Can appear whether or not a person is aware of their own
impending death
4. Family
Can attach to a particular family member and their
descendants upon death until the family line ends.
Can make an appearance when someone is about to or has died.
Distance is not a factor (in many foreign wars the deceased would
appear to family or friends.
5. Glass
Appear in glass (moreso in old, leaded glass) and mirrors
Glass has a reflective property that allows spirits to be
photographed and seen more easily.

A rather intriguing photo captured by Bill, in a home built in the 1700's. The man's clothing, seems
to be that of one from the Revolutionary War period.
